I’m running for Congress because District 5 deserves a leader who knows this community, knows the work, and knows how to deliver.My career began on Capitol Hill as Special Assistant to Congresswoman Maxine Waters&nbsp;while she chaired the House Financial Services Committee. It was a front-row seat to history. I served during two presidential impeachments, stood on Capitol Hill during the January 6 United States Capitol attack, and learned firsthand from one of Congress’s most respected and fearless leaders during some of the most consequential moments in modern American politics.That experience shaped me. I saw what it means to defend democracy when it is under pressure. But I also learned something just as important: real representation does not stop at the Capitol doors. It happens in our neighborhoods, our schools, our churches, and our small businesses.So I brought my work home to Maryland.As Regional Director for U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen, I served communities across Prince George’s, Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties. Working alongside local leaders, nonprofits, and community organizations, we helped secure millions in federal funding for projects that matter: healthcare and mental health services, youth programs, job development, transportation improvements, infrastructure investments, and restoration of the Chesapeake Bay.But the most important part of the job was making sure our community had a voice. I worked directly with families to connect them to federal resources in moments of need. I helped constituents navigate federal agencies and cut through red tape. And I made sure the concerns of District 5 were heard clearly in Washington.Today, my public service continues here at home as a Government Affairs Manager at the region’s largest water utility, helping ensure nearly two million Marylanders have access to clean, reliable, and affordable water. It may not make headlines, but it is the kind of work that keeps communities healthy, businesses operating, and families secure.Right now, District 5 is feeling real pressure.Federal workers are facing instability. Families are dealing with rising costs while wages struggle to keep up. Too many decisions in Washington are being made by people who have forgotten what everyday life looks like for the people who keep this country running.District 5 deserves better.I’m running for Congress because I believe leadership should be rooted in service, grounded in community, and focused on results. I know this district because I’ve worked for it, fought for it, and served it.Now I’m ready to fight for District 5 in Congress.
